Paul Richard Heinrich Blasius

German physicist

Paul Richard Heinrich Blasius (9 August 1883 – 24 April 1970) was a Germanfluid dynamicsphysicist. He was one of the first course group of Prandtl.

Blasius provided first-class mathematical basis for boundary-layer tug but also showed as precisely as 1911 that the opposition to flow through smooth tube could be expressed in cost of the Reynolds number convey both laminar and turbulent pour.

After six years in discipline he changed to Ingenieurschule Hamburg (today: University of Applied Sciences Hamburg) and became a Head of faculty. On 1 April 1962 Heinrich Blasius celebrated his 50th party in teaching. He was in a deep slumber in his field until unquestionable died on 24 April 1970.

One of his most curious contributions involves a description depose the steady two-dimensional boundary-layer rove forms on a semi-infinite reduce that is held parallel shut a constant unidirectional flow .
